Constantin Rinke performing live at keyboard — Tage des Films

Raised in the northern German town of Papenburg, Constantin Rinke received a comprehensive musical education from an early age, beginning piano studies at five and soon taking up the trumpet. During his youth, this foundation evolved into an independent passion for composition that continues to define his artistic voice today.

Following his secondary education, he studied music education and classical piano at the University of Music and Theatre »Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy« Leipzig under Prof. Frank Peter and Julia Bartha, while dedicating himself intensively to chamber music under Prof. Boris Kusnezow. Alongside his studies, he worked actively as a piano pedagogue, repetiteur, and performing musician. His compositional oeuvre encompasses works for piano and chamber ensembles, orchestral and choral compositions, as well as electronic music and scores for theater.

Since summer 2023, Constantin has expanded his artistic horizon into film scoring, pursuing diploma studies at the prestigious Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg.

// 04 • THE CRAFT

Craft

In an era of digital uniformity, I prioritize the tactile unpredictability of analog sound—weaving acoustic instruments, physical friction, and organic textures directly into each score.

Yamaha Grand Piano with Close Microphones
Prepared Piano

Prepared Piano

The prepared piano transforms a concert grand into an intimate acoustic synthesizer. Muting and striking strings with wood, metal, or felt unlocks tactile percussive attacks, while the heavy cast-iron frame and soundboard bloom with expansive, subterranean resonances.

Sonic Foley

Glass, Mallets & Resonances

Friction on scratched glass, bowed rims, and bespoke acoustic Foley introduce fragile, micro-tonal textures that samples cannot recreate. By repurposing raw physical materials and everyday objects as acoustic resonators, mundane surfaces become expressive cinematic voices.

Raw Performance

Nothing replaces the human nuance of a live performer. The subtle breath, micro-inflections, and physical tension between musician and instrument imbue a score with an unmistakable identity you feel instantly.
